The master's programme in Engineering Physics bridges the gap between theoretical physics and practical engineering, seeking to develop future technology. Solving complex problems is an integral part of education, demanding in-depth knowledge of physics, as well as analytical and computational tools. Through specialisations, students become domain experts in one field of physics and go on to advanced industrial R&D positions or PhD studies.

The master's programme in Electromagnetics, Fusion and Space Engineering combines a strong foundation in electrical engineering with knowledge of electromagnetic fields, how they interact with matter and how to utilise them in technology. Students specialise in Microwave Engineering, Photonics, Plasma or Space. As the programme covers both theoretical and applied aspects of the field, graduates face diverse career opportunities in industry and academia.

Our world is facing many challenges, both in basic science when exploring fundamental forces and particles or the origin of the universe, planets and life, and in applied science to find sustainable energy sources, new technology on the nano-scale and tailor-made materials for industry, chemistry and medicine. Physics is the basis for this endeavour and physicists play an important role in these and many other fields. As a physicist, you will have a broad education and a wide range of tools for problem solving, tools which you can apply in almost any situation. These tools include mathematical and programming skills. We offer the whole three-year Bachelor's programme in English, and since all of the courses at an advanced level are given in English, you are free to choose from a wide variety of courses.

This structured two-year programme offers you the opportunity to learn about the universe and apply your knowledge of physics in a vibrant and fast-developing area of science. The first semester is spent on core astronomy courses, including stellar structure and evolution and galactic dynamics. In the second semester, you will begin work on a 60 ECTS degree project under the supervision of internationally well-regarded professors, and this project continues over three semesters. You will also take four more courses broadening your knowledge of the most exciting areas of modern astrophysics, such as exoplanets and the early universe.

What are the attractions in dealing drugs, being a graffiti writer, or trying to rehabilitate criminals? Cultural criminology is about local cultures, subcultures and a whole range of cultural characteristics associated with crime. It aims to explain and understand how people involved in crime go about their everyday life and how they interact with others. We want to get inside the experiences of committing or controlling crime. If you are a graffiti writer, what are the thrills? What efforts are used in trying to control graffiti, and what is the cultural understanding among media and social control agents?

The programme provides you with the opportunity to acquire an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills within the fields of analytical, organic, organometallic, bioinorganic and coordination chemistry. Through a combination of advanced courses and a Master’s degree project or projects, you are given the opportunity to specialise in the fields mentioned. Studies build on a previous grounding in chemistry and enable you to develop the ability to apply independent ideas to issues and problems in chemistry or its neighbouring fields.
