The master's programme in Computer Science provides a broad education in computer science. Students acquire a solid foundation in advanced algorithms, computer security, artificial intelligence and internet protocols, and gain expertise through specialisation tracks. Graduates pursue careers at the forefront of software-based technologies, for example, software engineers, game developers, and IT project managers, or go on to PhD studies in order to pursue careers in research labs or in academia.

The master's programme ICT Innovation combines technical competencies with skills in innovation and entrepreneurship. The programme strongly focuses on integrating education, research and business modules in its curriculum, with active industry involvement. Students choose one of six technical specialisation tracks. Graduates work with system and software development, product management, business development, start-ups and consulting.

The master's programme in Macromolecular Materials equips students with comprehensive tools needed to understand the relationships between molecular structure and macromolecular and material properties. Students gain skills to develop future materials in areas such as advanced health care, energy production, bio-based composites, green packaging and surface coatings. Graduates work in industry, start-up companies, consultant companies and research institutes.

This programme is ideal for graduates of Physics, Engineering and closely related disciplines, who want to transfer their expertise to the fast-growing global space sector. UCD is building Ireland’s first satellite, EIRSAT-1. Course highlights include a hands-on CubeSat lab, payload development and satellite systems engineering of a high-altitude balloon experiment and participation in an international mission design team project.
